Vent sealing is essential for a healthier and more efficient home.
Gaps between your ductwork and the drywall cause a 10%-15% air transfer from the attic to the inside of your home. In the summer, our attics get very hot (temperatures of over 150 degrees). Keeping these gaps sealed will prevent that hot air from entering your home and in winter keep cold air out and warm air in.
Another reason to seal your vents is to keep insects, dust and debris from your attic out of your home. Many times these gaps are so large that the insulation from your attic is visible. Insects found coming out these cracks have been scorpions, bees, earwigs, grasshoppers, spiders, and many more.
